Three more murdered on “vigilante” pretense
AT GLANCE: In span of three days, another three persons were killed in Davao City, one of whom was reportedly a pimp. One of the victims, whose identity remains unknown, was stabbed dead as he walks in a place where market goers usually gather at dawn. As in previous cases, although the motive into their murders could not be immediately ascertained, or even their identities are not known yet, police investigator nevertheless began investigating into their cases by looking into their background.
Pimp stabbed dead
Victim: Tirso Reponte, 26 years old, a resident of Barangay Ma-a in Davao City
Date and place: 15 June 2008 at 1:30am
Tirso Reponte was reportedly standing at the corner of Quirino and Palma Gil Streets in the same city when he was stabbed dead by unknown suspects. Tirso, who was reportedly a pimp, was supposedly waiting for customers for his girls when attacked.
Tirso died on the spot due to multiple stab wounds.
Man stabbed dead as he walks
Victim: An unidentified man
Date and place: 15 June at 2am in Metro Circle, Davao City
This unnamed victim was reportedly walking along the Metro Circle in Magallanes street when unknown persons suddenly attacked him.
He could not be immediately identified because he had not identification documents with him when he as found dead. The place where he was tabbed dead is where the market goers usually gather at dawn to buy goods.
Shot dead while tending his store
Victim: Romeo Cabaguio Aguinaldo, 44 years old, a resident of Yakal street, Phase 5, Hillside subdivision
Date and place: 13 June 2008 at 6pm in his store
Romeo Aguinaldo was just outside tending the store he owns when he was attacked by unknown gunmen.
The gunmen shot Romeo to his shoulder and forehead at close range. It is reported that Romeo may have though the attackers would buy goods from his store, but was shot instead.
After the shooting, the suspect escaped towards nearby village in NHA Buhangin. Police investigators from the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) had recovered two empty shells of .45 caliber pistol./Super Balita Davao
Though the police have yet to identify the attackers, it was already reported that the police were already looking into the victim’s personal background that could have help them solving his murder.
