Slaughter of Innocents

In a span of one day, two persons have been killed, one of whom was a younger brother of a driver who was himself killed in April 27, in separate incidents in General Santos City, once again. One of the victim’s nephew, who had survived the attack, had come close eye contact with one of their attackers.

Driver shot dead by his passengers

German Sanchez was driving his passenger tricycle towards the downtown area from his place when shot dead allegedly by his two passengers. Witnesses have informed the police it was German’s passengers who had shot him to his head.

Police Investigator (P02) Marvin Caresma of San Isidro Police Station, a police officer who was also responsible in investigating into another suspicious death there that have taken place few days ago, has said they have yet to identify the attackers. The two men whom German had ferried have not been seen since.

Gunmen killed his brother before; they killed him, too

Alcon Ramirez, whose elder brother, Danny, was shot dead in a robbery on April 27, was himself been killed in front of his nephew, 18-year-old Laro Martinez.

It happened few hours after German’s murder, when Alcon, who was driving his motorcycle together with his nephew, when they were attacked by gunmen. Alcon suffered gunshot wounds to his head.

Alcon and his nephew were approaching towards a crossing close to their place, when the gunmen, who apparently had positioned themselves along the roadside, simultaneously open fired at them. The two had just come from fish port complex on their way home when they were attacked.

The suspects had immediately escaped onboard two different motorcycles. The Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) had recovered five empty shells of .45 calibre pistol at the crime scene.
